Abstract
Purpose: It is very difficult to select students through admission interview of short duration and so, its reliability always becomes major concern. To select students with reliability and acceptability we adopted the Multiple Mini-Interview (MMI) method with questions testing different cognitive function.

Materials and Methods: We examine 12 interview questions used for 3 years from 2006 to 2008 and chose 2 questions testing thinking ability (Digram interpretation group) and another 2 questions testing memorized knowledge (Previous knowledge group). And correlations between these question types and academic achievements following 2 years were studied.

Results: Of 2 question types Previous knowledge group had no correlation at all with any item, whereas Diagram interpretation group showed correlation with GPA of 2nd semester of 2nd year in 2008. Among 1st year subjects (basic science), ¡¯Structural basis of human anatomy¡¯, ¡¯Principle of drug action¡¯, Health and society¡¯, and ¡¯Urogenital system¡¯ showed significant correlation. In the 2nd year subjects (clinical medicine) ¡¯Endocrinology and metabolism¡¯, ¡¯Allergy immunology and infection¡¯, ¡¯Renal & urogenital medicine¡¯, ¡¯Maternal-fetal and neonatal medicine¡¯, ¡¯Woman¡¯s medicine¡¯, and ¡¯Neurology¡¯ showed significant correlation.

Conclusion: There was correlation between the result of interview question testing think process and that of academic achievement in Chungbuk National University Medical School. However, no correlation was found on the question testing previous biological knowledge.
